There were days while I was in Japan that I would spend indoors, even if the weather was nice. I would be on my computer or watching TV or reading books in English. While these are not bad things, these were things I could be doing back in America. The things that I could have been doing:
I think that most of us, me included, go through out days just going through the motions. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat..... How much time do we really spend on those things that don't require us to live? What are we doing that will not cause us regret? I read somewhere that when a person is dying, they will not say, "Oh, I wish I had spent more time on the computer." What can we do to make our lives more fulfilling? What can we do to live our lives without regret?
I'm not saying to stay off social media for good! It is good to have some downtime and connect to those who are not nearby. But, how much time do you want to spend (dare I say, waste?) on things that you will, on your death bed, regret spending so much time with/on? If you look back on the life you have lived so far, what do you regret NOT doing? Is that something you can do now? Everyone has the same amount of time in their day. It is how we spend it that makes our lives different. What can you do today that will make a good story to tell?
